“Star Wars” Princess Inspires Real Royal Name

Category: News

The name of Norwegian Princess Leah was inspired by a major character in the “Star Wars” trilogy, the set of hit movies created by filmmaker George Lucas, the mother of the infant princess was quoted in saying about a month ago.     “I must admit that I have always been a big ‘Star Wars’ fan, and Princess Leia has always been the most beautiful (princess) in the whole world,” Princess Martha Louise said in an interview with a Norwegian newspaper not that long after Leah’s birth.

Princess Leah was born on April 8, 2005. The young infant princess is currently fifth in line to the Norwegian throne. Her mother is very proud of her and wants her daughter to become a queen.

In the hit classic trilogy of the “Star Wars” franchise, now with a total of two trilogies and six movies altogether, Princess Leia is the daughter of Queen-turned-Senator Padme Amidala Skywalker and Jedi Knight-turned-Sith Lord Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, and is also the sister to Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker.

Princess Louise did not comment on the slight spelling difference of the two names. However, the two names are pronounced the same.
