Halo 3 Pre Pre-View

June 11th, 2005 | Category: Gaming News

Last week it was Bill Gates claiming that Halo 3 would be ready in Spring 2006, in time to ruin Sony’s PS3 launch party. Now, Robbie Bach, Microsoft senior vice president and chief Xbox officer, has decided to cast some doubt over those comments.

In a cover story on Time magazine last week, Bill Gates in apparent ecstatic mood was asking readers to picture a day when …Sony launches, and they walk right into Halo 3. That story, tying in well with the XBox 360 hype at E3, must have generated a positive buzz regarding Microsoft’s future console prospects.

Now that E3 has been and gone, the waters need some muddying and the first volunteer was Robbie Bach who in no uncertain terms decided to put the Microsoft Chairman in his place, The World’s throne I assume, as he stated …with all respect to Bill, I don’t run Bungie’s studio, and neither does he. We’ll work with the Bungie guys and let people know, when they have something to announce. So Bungie doesn’t belong to the rest of the world which Mr. Gates apparently does run.

What seems a bit more surprising is that Mr. Bach also stated that We haven’t announced anything on what Bungie is doing or where we’re going with the future of the ‘Halo’ franchise… Such a statement could raise some doubt as to whether Bungie is planning a clear sequel to Halo or some kind of spin-off while another possibility will be a quick numerical jump straight to Halo 360.

For months, the Web was rife with rumors that Microsoft would ship the sequel to Halo 2 for the Xbox 360 simultaneously with the launch of the PlayStation 3. Now, that has been confirmed–by none other than Bill Gates himself.

In next week’s issue of Time Magazine–which features Gates holding the Xbox 360 on the cover–Gates mentioned plans for the release of the much-anticipated follow-up to the best-selling console shooter. In a parenthetical sidebar in the article, Time says the following:

“Note to the hard-core faithful: the next version of Halo will not, repeat not, be ready in time for the launch of Xbox 360. It will be part of the all-important second wave next spring. ‘It’s perfect,’ Gates says, radiant with bloodlust. ‘The day Sony launches [the new PlayStation], and they walk right into Halo 3.'”

While Microsoft reps were not available for comment as of press time, Gates’ comments appear to confirm the theory that Microsoft will release Halo 3 either simultaneously or near the release of Sony’s next-gen console. It also marks further official confirmation that a third Halo is indeed in the works and will be released for the Xbox 360.

Although such statements might be interpreted as grandstanding, such a maneuver definitely would have an impact. Halo 2 sold more than 6.5 million copies to date and is credited with doubling the subscriber base of Xbox Live from around 750,000 to more than 1.5 million. It is also credited by industry-watchers as one of the main reasons for boosting sales of the original Xbox last holiday season.

Pay Per Click – The Easy Way to Moneyland

June 11th, 2005 | Category: New Recruit Tips,News

If there was ever an easy way to make money, this would be it. The Pay Per Click (PPC) system might just be the best thing that has ever happened to the Vast Empire. Containing five links to RPG voting websites, the PPC does a good thing for both you and the VE. For you, it gives you a ton of IC’s (if you click on all five links in one time, you’ll get 2,100 IC’s) and for the VE, it attracts more members. If you follow the link through on each of the voting sites, you help promote the VE across the World-Wide Web, or, in our case, the Galaxy-Wide HoloNet.    Plus, there is another reward for clickers. If you have a total of 500 clicks, you’ll get 150,000 IC’s of Imperial Stock. If you get 1,000 clicks, you’ll get 300,000 IC’s worth of Imperitrade stock. For 2,000 clicks, you get 600,000 IC’s worth of stock. For the full list of stock prizes, please visit the PPC rewards list.

Now, on to the Top 15 Clickers list. Due to the size of the list, I am only going to list the top 5 clickers. Tieing for fifth place, Jack Nebulax (myself) with 1,129 clicks, and chipmunk man with also 1,129 clicks. Coming in third with 1,475 clicks, is a great man: Cosmic. Second place, with 1,653 clicks, is the greatest man that we know: Grand Moff Kadann, and in first place, with an astounding 1,981 clicks, Willtconq, King of PPC. If you’d like to see the rest of the list, please visit the the PPC member stats page Also on that same link, you can view the top 15 IC earners. The Top IC earner list contains the same order of the top 5 clickers, with a slight variation with fourth and fifth place in which chipmunk man and myself switch places.

Just remember, if you ever want to earn money the easy way and can’t wait for your next paycheck, it’s always good to check out the Pay Per Click system. Even if you’re a new recruit, check out the PPC to earn a few extra IC’s before you even get assigned. That sure beats robbing people, right? Just kidding. The PPC is the easiest way to Moneyland, or, in the Empire’s case, Muunilinst.
